The idea of the Messiah being God’s Son appears throughout the Bible. From the time of the first kings, the Jews understood that the Messiah would be the Son of God. Although Jesus (Yeshua‘) was careful not to use the title much in public, other people applied it to Him. During His trial He willingly accepted the charge of being the Son of God, even though the Jews considered it blasphemy and sought His death for claiming it.
