Word of life

The Jews never expected the Word to become flesh, so John emphasized Jesus’ closeness and vitality. John and some of his readers had physically touched Jesus (Yeshua‘). He described Jesus as:

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. (1 John 1:1 NIV)

The Word of life has the power to impart life to all those who put their trust in Him.
