Beginning and End

Like the mysterious priest, Melchizedek, Jesus (Yeshua‘) has no beginning of days or end of life (Heb 7:3). Instead, He is the source and consummation of everything, the Beginning and end. This is one of a group of names of God and Jesus that speak of their eternal nature.

Similar names for God occur. In the Old Testament God is called the first and the last. In the New Testament the names Alpha and the Omega, Beginning of the creation of God, and Him who has been from the beginning occur.
