Deliverer

King David used many descriptive names of God; one of those names was Deliverer. More common is the similar name, Redeemer. In the New Testament, Paul was totally convinced that God continued to be the Deliverer of people. He had plenty of personal experience of God rescuing him from tight spots, just as David had.1

God delivers us in very practical ways but His most important deliverance is from the grip of sin on our lives.

Rhyomenos

Strong’s Concordance number: 4506

Bible reference: Rom. 11:26

So all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion
He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”
(Romans 11:26)

This quotation is very similar to the Old Testament Greek of Isaiah 59:20-21, which uses rhyomenos. There are other similarities with Psalm 14:7. However, in the Hebrew of those passages the words used are go’el (redeemer) and yeshu‘at (salvation) respectively.

Similar biblical names of God are Tower of deliverance, God of deliverances, and My help.
