“Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” is one of the more formal names of Jesus (Yeshua‘). “Christ” is the Greek word for the Messiah. This is the name that Peter used for Jesus in his second letter. A shorter form is “Lord and Savior.” Those two words focus on two of Jesus’ most important roles. We should relate to Jesus as our lord and our savior.
