My lovingkindness is one translation of the Hebrew word Khasdi. The related word khesed has to do with covenant faithfulness. God’s loyalty to His covenant with His people was unfailing, even though Israel failed on their part. But it is important to note that His faithfulness flowed out of the love on which the relationship was based. To call God, “my lovingkindness,” is to declare that His commitment to each of us is unswerving.
