Shepherd of Israel

God related to His people in a similar way as a shepherd did to his sheep. In Psalm 80 that picture is used in an appeal to the Shepherd of Israel to save His flock.

One Bible verse uses a prophetic name of Jesus that incorporates the name Shepherd of Israel: “Shepherd and Stone of Israel.” The imagery continues through the well-known psalm where the LORD is called “My Shepherd.” In the New Testament, Jesus is the Good Shepherd.
