Spirit of the Living God

Spirit of the Living God is a name for the Holy Spirit that expands on the simple name Spirit of God, which is found throughout the Bible. The emphasis in this name is that God is alive, real, and active.

You are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. (2 Corinthians 3:3)

Paul was speaking of the church in Corinth. The church was far from perfect but Paul still recognized her as a letter of Jesus (Yeshua‘) being written by the Spirit of the Living God. The same can be said of God’s worldwide church today. Let’s be excited about how much God values us, and let’s allow the Spirit of the Living God to perfect His work in us to the glory of God.
