Upright One

The Hebrew word yashar has to do with being level or straight. In this case, God is the reference point and He alone deserves the name Upright One. God is the standard of righteousness and justice against which all others are compared and found warped. Yet, in Jesus (Yeshua‘), we are counted as upright again. Another name El Yeshurun, God of the upright one, celebrates that truth.
